What are Lindt truffles?

Before there was a copycat, there had to be an original. That is so true about these delicious treats. Lindt chocolates are world famous for many types of classic delicious recipes.
These truffles became famous when they made cylindrically shaped chocolates and wrapped them with red shiny wrapping to match the Christmas season.
The truffles resemble round decorations that hang on Christmas trees. These treats became a permanent product, they had to produce the chocolates even when the season was past.
The chocolatiers at Lindt are very creative, varying the recipe according to markets and seasons. Some truffles are creamy and smooth, some have pecans, and peanuts and one of my favorites contains cookies.
Home chefs attempt to copy the recipes to treat their families on a budget. A truffle is made of chocolatey creamy interior coated tempered chocolate. You can decorate or top the truffles with coconut or cocoa powder or white chocolate. Truffles are shaped like the most sort for fungus, that are very rare and pricy.
How to make Amish copycat Lindt Chocolate truffles

Making these delicate treats is not difficult, you do not require complex chocolatier skills as long as you stick to the recipe.
Measure the cream cheese and add it into a mixing bowl. Start by melting the chocolate chips in a double boiler.
( I trust this method over microwaving the chocolate. It teaches patience in children and reduces the risk of burning the chocolate, which I am guilty of many times.)
Once the chocolate has melted, pour the chocolate into the mixing bowl containing the cream cheese.

Mix the melted chocolate with the cream cheese until fully incorporated, add your favorite flavoring, and mix well. Refrigerate the mixture for about 4 hours. Use an ice cream to scoop the mixture and form a ball between the palms of your hand.
Arrange the Amish chocolate truffles on a tray lined with parchment and refrigerate for the second time. Melt the second batch of dark chocolate chocolate chips in a double boiler.
Get the balls from the refrigerator, and dip them carefully in a glass containing the melted chocolate.
Ensure that all sides are coated. Set them aside to dry, at this point sprinkle your favorite toppings before the coating layer dries up.
Mum, Why are you following an Amish Recipe?

My daughter has to know the reference recipes. She realized I am a great fan of Amish and Mennonite recipes.
We had a couple of Amish and Mennonite recipe books in our collection. Amish recipes are easy to follow and call for simple ingredients that could be in your pantry at any one time.
Most Amish women are good cooks, they have a rich culinary heritage influenced by Europe where their founding fathers came from.
They repeatedly make a lot of large batches of treats because Amish families are usually large.
This has made them perfect the art of making classic made-from-scratch treats.
They may refrain from using lots of modern conveniences but one ex-Amish once told me, they do not refrain from very sugary treats. I do not know how true that is…
I hope you're still with me. Before you scroll straight to the recipe, let us have a look at the ingredients you are gonna need in detail.
INGREDIENTS AND SUBSTITUTION

Chocolate chips
Chocolate chips possess a rich earthy and sweet flavor that compliments perfectly with the cream cheese. They make the interior of the truffles very silky and creamy.
You can substitute dark chocolate with butterscotch chips for a different flavor.
If you do not have chocolate chips, you can use dark cooking chocolate as long as you break it into small pieces, however, these take a long time to melt.
Cream cheese
Softened cream cheese is a major ingredient in this recipe.
I love the tanginess and bitter undertone that cream cheese brings to the sweet chocolate treat.
You can substitute cream cheese with chocolate ganache that is made with whipping cream.
Peppermint oil
When it's Christmas, I love flavoring my Amish copycat lindt truffle with peppermint oil.
Peppermint introduces a fresh, cool flavor making the truffles irresistible, it sure tastes amazing with chocolate.
